Ohio State Buckeyes Football

The Ohio State Buckeyes are the American football team representing Ohio State University in the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision. They have played home games at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio since 1922. Here are some of the best players on the team and their impact on the team. You can also read about Brutus Buckeye and Joey Bosa. Also, check out the Ohio State basketball team, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the team’s history.

Brutus Buckeye

During the first Brutus Buckeye, Ohio State Football game in 1970, the ball was a massive 70 tons. During the second game, Brutus performed 73 pushups, the most points a Buckeye had scored in 60 years. The giant ball was used for almost a decade. During the first game, the giant ball was used for almost two years before the school decided to change its logo.

Joey Bosa

Ezekiel Elliott and Joey Bosa, two former Ohio State football players, are set to face off in Week 2 on the NFL stage. Both were once teammates at Ohio State and roommates. Both players earned a spot on the Chargers’ practice squad after helping the Buckeyes reach the College Football Playoff as sophomores. It is not too soon to say if this will be the first game that they will face each other, but it will be an interesting game to watch.

Chase Young

The high expectations for Ohio State’s junior defensive end have been building for quite some time. They were further fueled during spring ball. Young, a 6-foot-2, 265-pound defensive tackle, was already being compared to Nick Bosa before he even played his first season at Ohio State. Bosa and his brother, Joey, both became First-Team All-Americans during their sophomore seasons, but they were both playing more games than Chase Young did as a freshman. Despite all the hype, Young did not make it into the Ohio State defensive end lineup last season.

Paul Brown

The Paul Eugene Brown Museum tells the story of Ohio State’s most beloved player, quarterback and all-time winningest coach. The exhibits in this museum feature rare historic artifacts, memorabilia and personal items from Brown’s collection. Visitors can view contemporary newspaper articles, game programs and historic footage, and relive Brown’s career in a variety of media, including audio of contemporary interviews.

Jelani Thurman

Jelani Thurman, a tight end from Georgia, is being rated a 4-star recruit by many scouting services. The Georgia native is ranked No. 9 among tight ends. Ohio State’s evaluation of Thurman is much better than his overall rating. The Buckeyes have long wanted to recruit him, and he has earned the right to join the program. Nonetheless, the Buckeyes need to find a quarterback.

Joey Bosa’s suspension

Four Ohio State players have been suspended for the first game of the season against Virginia Tech. The punishment is the result of violations of the Department of Athletics Policy. Joey Bosa, a consensus All-American and top NFL draft pick last year, will not play in the season opener because of the suspension. Ohio State will replace him with Sam Hubbard and Jalyn Holmes. Bosa’s brother, John, agreed with the suspension, saying that the player was not breaking any laws.

Joey Hayes

Despite his success, Ohio State football coach Bill Enarson wanted to get rid of Joey Hayes as soon as possible. Enarson was worried about his school’s reputation being tarnished after multiple incidents. The team’s record of winning games sat at.500 and was destined for a playoff run. Hayes was the only coach to return from retirement despite being fired after just a few seasons.
